My Week With Marilyn

Never-published photos of Marilyn.

LIFE magazine - whilst digitalizing their huge photo archives - recently discovered negatives of a 24-year-old Marilyn Monroe that had never been published. 

Taken by LIFE photographer Ed Clark almost 59 years ago, the young, little-known star at the time, strolls around Los Angeles' Griffith Park completely carefree and reads up on her scripts for upcoming rolls. Beautiful.

"Everyone's a star!"

Dolce and Gabbana's blogazine 'Swide' were allowed behind the scenes at a recent Spanish Vogue shoot of Lindsay Lohan wearing the Italian duo's Marilyn print dress. 

The white silk Mikado evening gown made its debut in the finale of the designer's latest FW'10 collection and is available in both long and short forms. Hmmm, I'm not convinced I like it though. Or Lindsay with bleached blond hair for that matter.

Apparently Lindsay has a bit of a passion for Marilyn of late, having just had  a Marilyn quote tatood onto her wrist reading:

"Everyone's a star and deserves to sparkle."

Marilyn's wardrobe.

An auction selling some of Marilyn Monroe's famous wardrobe choices is to be held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas at the end of this month. Some lucky and wealthy fanatics will be able to treasure glamouress garments which adorned the Hollywood icon. 

Among the items on sale is this white fox fur stole (in the days where ignorance was bliss) with a triple-pleated ivory silk lining often worn by Marilyn (valued at $12,000 - $15,000). And this Evans Sweson frame white umbrella used in a 1949 shoot of Marilyn on her first ever visit to New York. 

This blue and dusty rose coloured chiffon with silk embroidered flower details was adorned by Marilyn in 'The prince and the Show girl' and has an estimated selling price of over $20,000.

Shock horror! It's Agy!
