Lunch With An Old Bag 2011

Last week, as a volunteer for the Prince's Trust, I worked at a fabulous event held at the very grand Prestonfield House in Edinburgh: Lunch With An Old Bag 2011.

The event - currently in it's third year - brings together 50 of Scotland's most high profile ladies who each host a table of 10, enjoy a beautiful lunch and fabulous entertainment (this year in the form of singer Russell Watson) and bid on some of the most sought after handbags of the season. Luxury design houses, designers and celebrities donated a selection of bags which were auctioned to the highest bidders in aid of the Prince's Trust who are aiming to change the stereotype of disadvantaged young people.
Yours truly was asked to style the bags on stage, sell raffle tickets then prepare the designer bags for auction. I then also somehow ended up on stage "modeling" the bags as they were being auctioned. See below for me (in a fetching red Prince's Trust t-shirt) and a fabulous Prada bowling bag.

Waist Down.

Miuccia Prada's latest project, 'Prada Transformer' is an outstanding structure designed to accomodate a series of events in Seoul, South Korea. The tetrahedron has four different configurations, which can simply be switched by rotating the structure with construction cranes.  The 'Transformer' is designed so floors can become walls and walls become ceilings in just one hour.
Currently in the form of a hexagon, it is hosting a reprise exhibition 'Waist Down - Skirts by Miuccia Prada.'

"Being eccentric from top-to-toe is too much, but you can do eccentric with a skirt. Put a simple shirt or top with an eccentric skirt and it isn't a big deal. There is so much more room tp play with." - Miuccia Prada
With cardboard cut-out models lining the transformer's skeletal interior, skirt clad mannequins dotted around, and individual pieces suspended from the ceilings - Miuccia's eclectic exhibition is a graceful compliment to the sweeping mechanics of the Prada pavilion.

Prada phone

Currently I own the Prada LG phone, the touchscreen phone that was much talked about a year and a half ago when it first came out. I first spotted it in Dazed & Confused magazine so waited with baited breath for its release.

The packaging was gorgeous and I had a bit of a honeymoon period with my phone overlooking the fact that it was difficult to write text messages and a not so great 2 mega pixel camera. Also, I stupidly never used the protective Prada sleeve that came with it so over time the Prada logo has completely scratched off.

Other designer phones such as the D&G, Chanel phone etc have came out, which I haven't liked as much. But in Amsterdam I saw an advertisement for the new Prada II LG phone with slide out QWERTY keyboard. It also has a 5mega pixel camera this time, which will be a lot better for when I see things I want to blog. And so I am in lust again.
I popped into Orange to see about upgrading but it isn't to be released in the UK for another couple of months yet.
