Lily bares all.

Is it just me or does Lily Allen look increasingly amazing? Perhaps this is what happens when you become best chums with Mr Lagerfeld. (Be my friend Karl!)
This time she has gone topless for Harper's Bazaar Russia in vintage lace underwear and charcoaled eyes.

Magical Fashion by Tim Burton

In anticipation of his retrospective at MOMA, filmmaker Tim Burton reimagines the season's dark delights. The photographer was - of course - Tim Walker.

Pop vs. Love

Fashion in the UK has been split in two between new magazine LOVE (second issue) and the newly relaunched POP.

OK so bear with me: Katie Grand, editor of LOVE, used to edit POP. Upon leaving POP, rumour spread that working for POP from now on meant you would be banned from working for LOVE in the future. So how could POP compete? Enter Katie’s old boss and POP co-founder, Ashley Heath who was forced out of POP years ago. Can't wait to see how things unfold.

Designer Elle Covers

To mark the 25th year anniversary of London Fashion Week, Elle (UK) magazine has asked 4 great British designers to create their own special edition cover. All 4 editions will be available to buy. I'll be keeping an eye out for them this month.

John Galliano's cover girl was "a rebel, a minx who refuses to conform".

Stella McCartney's was based on the t-shirt she designed for Comic Relief featuring the Beatles.

Christopher Kane decided to show the polaroids he takes before his runway shows.

Dame Vivienne Westwood did her's in the style of her Manifesto exclaiming "In these hard times - Dress Up!" (Read my previous post on graduating with Vivienne Westwood.)

Photographer Eugenio Recuenco

I recently came across the work of the Spanish fashion photographer Eugenio Recuenco and I loved it immediately. Some of his work bares a striking similarity in style to that of Tim Walker (see the post I did before on Tim Walker photography) in that he uses lavish sets to create a fairytale image.

I also discovered that he was the creative mind behind the beautiful Nina Ricci perfume adverts (starring the now, sadly deceased model Ruslana Korshunova). You can also watch the making of this film on his official website.

However there seems to be a darker, more mysterious side to a lot of Recuenco's work which is not present in Walker's work. This eerie element gives his work an edge making it perfect for the world of fashion photography and his work is often featured in editorials for Vogue amongst others.

Mystery catwalk show...

Years ago I cut this image out of a magazine. I remember reading that guests sat at a long white dining table which was then cleared for models to walk down as a runway. I love the chandeliers and the reflected delicacy of the clothing (very appropriate for the upcoming trends for Spring Summer '09).
The only problem is I cut out the image and don't remember whose show this was. If anyone knows let me know because I have searched all over the internet for this.
