Ashley Olsen on Marie Claire
A portrait of Ashley Olsen dons the cover of the new American Marie Claire. The article discusses her new career path as a fashion designer (shop her collection 'The Row') and features some beautiful photographs of her looking timeless and natural.

Here she is wearing the Givenchy lace dress with blue shoulder pads that I previously commented on when discussing Fall '09 textile trends. I absolutely love that dress with its zips up the sleeves.

On my wishlist.
Tried on this Topman jumper in an XXS the other day and loved it. Can I justify buying a men's jumper with a tiger's face on it when I'm trying to save pennies???
Mark Fast for Browns.
Browns have teamed up with knitwear designer Mark Fast again for AW09 to offer a limited collection online. With body con being back, "Fast is bringing a touch of rebellion to his fall collection that is seriously sexy with a hint of punk."
My favourite item is this double layered black knitted dress with a fringed bolero. The detailing is gorgeous with a racer back and ladder stitches across the bust. (And all for a mere £2,080.00!)

Procession of Evangelista
Linda Evangelista was recently photographed for W magazine on an elaborate outdoor set in New York's SoHo. Taking on the role as a statue of the Virgin Mary, she was carried by several men through the streets of "Spain".

Meggings
Stylesight has been noticing a lot of men in leggings lately, which have apparently been pouring into the streets of New York, Paris, London, and Tokyo since last year (after making appearances on the runway for quite a few seasons). Men have been wearing them all-year-round as a fun way to practice layering in changeable weather.

Mark Ronson for Gucci sneakers.
Gucci is launching a "pop-up" sneaker store that will travel the world selling a select range of sneakers, including a unisex city-specific pair of sneakers designed by DJ Mark Ronson. The store is said to be coming to the likes of LA, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, and Tokyo, staying at each location for only a few weeks.
Despite his fashion designer sister Charlotte Ronson, some view the partnership between Gucci and the DJ an odd choice, but Ronson claims:

HMV clothing
HMV is in talks with apparel retailers and brands - including Topman - with an aim to offer more clothes in store. Their existing clothing lines include film/tv/music-related t-shirts and hoodies which sell extremely well. At their Oxford Street flagship store, the singles and reggae sections have been downsized to make room for more apparel and apparel displays.
Should Topman confirm a contract with HMV, it would put them in direct competition with themselves: they have recently teamed up with iconic music retailer Rough Trade with plans to sell CDs in-store come September.

Richard Kern Photography

Richard Kern has always shown a deep interest in the aesthetics of extreme sex, violence, and perversion, but in amongst the copious amount of female nudes, there are some really beautiful moments captured.
